A man accused of assaulting his grandparents following a dispute on Sunday is now in custody.
David Louis Waldrop, 24 of Moulton, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of first-degree theft of property, third degree robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree domestic violence, writ of arrest and interfering with interfering with police charges.
Police Chief Lyndon McWhorter said officers first responded to a call around 4 p.m. on Sunday after Waldrop allegedly assaulted his grandparents at their residence.
Police officers brought Waldrop into custody Wednesday afternoon after a traffic stop was conducted at Jiffy Mart in Moulton around 3:50 p.m.
McWhorter said other charges may be pending from other departments as investigations continue.
