Town Creek woman arrested for child neglect

A Town Creek woman was arrested at her residence on Wednesday following a call concerning “possible child neglect,” according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Lizabeth Ann Landers, of County Road 125 in Town Creek, was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment after deputies responded to a call at her home and found two 3-month-old infants alone inside the residence.

The children were found swelling from multiple ant bites, treated at the scene and then transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Landers was booked into the Lawrence County Jail with bond set at $12,000.

Investigations continue.
