The Jackson House Foundation is taking pre-orders for barbecued ribs and butts by former Auburn football player Pat Johnson now through June 22.

Johnson, owner of PJ’s Q, picked up the hobby of barbecuing at an early age and fine-tuned this skill cooking with Pit Master Myron Mixon, JHF Director Tammy Roberts said.

The former football star now makes and sells his own barbecue sauce, and will be cooking and selling ribs and butts to benefit the Jackson House in Moulton.

Orders may be picked up on the eastern side of Moulton’s old courthouse starting at noon on June 22. 

Ribs are $25, and butts are $35, Roberts said. 

“Pat’s grill cooks 36 butts and 26 slabs of ribs,” she posted to the event Facebook page on Tuesday. “This is how many of each we will have for sale. We have eight pre-orders for ribs and nine for butts so far.”

Interested customers may pre-pay for their orders on Venmo@JacksonHouseFoundation. Orders can also be called in to  256-566-6427.
