The Jesse Owens Park and Museum reopened this week following statewide closures in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Jesse Owens Museum will resume operating hours Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Museum staff, vendors and guests will be required to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Alabama Department of Public Health guidelines, the museum announced Monday.

According to the health order, the museum will only permit up to 66 visitors inside the building at one time.

The museum said contactless temperature checks will be administered at the entrance, and visitors ages five years and older will be required to wear face coverings. Masks will be available at the facility.

The museum will strictly enforce the 6-foot social distancing guidelines set by the CDC and ADPH and asks visitors to avoid touching displays and other surfaces.

Visitors will also be required to sign health waivers upon entering.
