Modern Woodmen of America and Dixie Diamond Sports are partnering for a fundraiser to benefit Moulton Police Department and Moulton Fire Department this December by selling raffle tickets for firearms throughout November.

Raffle tickets will be granted to qualifying patrons for a minimum $40 donation, and a drawing will be held each day in December to determine the 31 recipients.

Some of the firearms to be raffled include a Ruger American 7.62 by 39 rifle, a 9 millimeter Glock 43, a Winchester SXP 20 gauge, and a Remington 870 Tact 14 12 gauge. For a full list of firearms to be raffled each day, see the calendar posted on event organizer Amber Dunlap’s Facebook page.

A limit of 1,000 tickets will be sold, Dunlap said.

Tickets are being sold at Dixie Diamond Sports and Pond Pure Catfish in Moulton. Tickets are also available online through PayPal for an additional $2 per ticket.

The purchaser must include their name, phone number, address, and date of birth in the “notes” section when submitting a payment online. Money may be sent through PayPal to comauxiliary@gmail.com.

To be eligible to purchase a ticket, participants must be at least 21 years old, can attest that they are a law-abiding citizen who can legally possess a firearm, and consent to a background check and any other legal actions needed to prove their eligibility to own a gun.

“Once a ticket is drawn, it will be returned to the pot for more chances to win,” organizers said. “Each ticket represents an opportunity to own 31 guns.”

Prizes are non-transferable, and winners will be notified using the name and contact information provided by the purchaser at the time the ticket was sold. All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the date the ticket was drawn.

Winners will also be announced on Facebook daily starting Dec. 1. Winners must appear in person with a valid ID at Dixie Diamond Sports to redeem their gun or guns.

All proceeds will benefit Moulton’s police and fire departments, Dunlap said.

Dixie Diamond Sports is located at 15190 Court Street in Moulton. For more information, call 256-221-4048 or 256-974-9910.
