TC Police arrest Decatur man for meth

 Easterley

Town Creek police officers seized a half-ounce of methamphetamine from a Decatur man traveling west on Alabama Highway 20 with an expired tag earlier this month.

Jake Lance Easterley, 41 of 68 Kimberly Street, was arrested on Saturday, June 1, on charges of possession with intent to distribute and driving with an expired tag, according to the Town Creek Police Department.

Officers said Easterley, who was driving a Silver Saturn VUE, was stopped near the Town Creek city limits for following too closely and an expired tag.

According to reports, an officer observed Easterley reaching suspiciously towards the front passenger seat and console area of the vehicle during the traffic stop. After searching the SUV, the officer found a partially opened nylon cooler containing two plastic bags of Meth/ICE and a container of synthetic urine.

Easterley was transported to the Lawrence County Jail on bond of $1,500 for possession and $300 for an expired tag.
