A house fire that broke out around 10 p.m. in the Caddo community on Tuesday has claimed the life of 53-year-old Henry Dwight Terry.

First responders were called to Terry's residence at 235 County Road 368 in Trinity around 10:12 p.m., according to Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood.

Terry's body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensics for an autopsy, though Norwood said no foul play is suspected.

He said the State Fire Marshal's Office is conducting a point of origin fire investigation, and it appears the fire was cooking-related.

Norwood said there were no working smoke detectors inside the home at the time of the incident.
