The Lawrence County Commission discussed a watershed issue in Mount Hope during a special called meeting last Friday.

The issue concerns a dam that helps control flooding from the headwaters of Town Creek, which starts in the Hickory Grove community, commissioners said.

Commissioners entered into an executive session that lasted nearly two hours to discuss the matter with County Attorney David Martin, who said the reason for the session concerned imminent litigation.
