COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — Police are charging a 14-year-old Georgia boy as an adult in the June 5 shooting death of a man at a Columbus lounge.
The unnamed teen turned himself in to Columbus police on Friday, local news outlets report, in the second arrest in the case.
He's charged with the murder of Samuel London at the Foxy Lady Lounge, as well as breaking into a car.
The 14-year-old is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Monday. It's unclear if he has a lawyer representing him.
Cecil Berguin, 18, was arrested Wednesday, and also charged with murder and breaking into a car. In a Thursday hearing, Detective Matt Sitler testified that Berguin was among several people in different cars who went to the lounge after 2 a.m. to break into vehicles parked outside.
Berguin was recorded on surveillance video entering London’s car as the 40-year-old got in and tried to get Berguin out, Sitler said. London was shot during the struggle.
Berguin was arrested in Phenix City, Alabama. and extradited to Columbus.
Investigators say they expect to make additional arrests.
