Kagen Blade Sutton, 18, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation was from 12 noon till 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service was at 3 p.m. with Rev. Shane Williams officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Methodist Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home assisting the family.
For all who knew Kagen, he was an accomplished athlete especially a cross country runner holding several records at Hatton School and awards even at the state level. In 2015, Kagen was chosen to participate in the Down Under Athletics in Australia. Kagen also loved to hunt and fish and he loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Kayleigh Sheffield; mother, Emily West (Roger); father, Colby Sutton (Ashley); grandparents, Lynn Porter (Janice), Ginger Flannagin (Cotton); Tina Cook, Michael Sutton, Dean West, Ricky West; great-grandparents, Elton and Gayle Porter, Kenneth and Diane Cross, and Doris Patterson Quinn; siblings, Brylin Sutton, Rynah West, Tyler Sutton, Racen Sutton, Colbin Sutton, Harper Sutton, Letty Sutton, Tinsley Sutton, Evie Calhoun, and Livi Calhoun; cousins, Jackson Hogan, Sadie Grace Smith, Ansley Hall, Blakely Hall, Kacyn Holt, and Brailee Holt; and a host of other family and friends.
Kagen was preceded in death by his sister, Jayla Sutton; great-grandparents Robert and Lula Bell Sutton.
His friends served as pallbearers.
