May, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., the Lawrence County Board of Education met to vote for an Assistant Principal, for Moulton Elementary School.
One of the people that was interviewed was already named on the website as Assistant Principal of Moulton Elementary School.
Prior to the meeting, the interview was set up to interview for the Assistant Principal position. On that same day, I had the opportunity to meet with the Superintendent and during our meeting I informed him that the person who was interviewed/selected name was already on the school’s website.
It appears that he really did not care that some African Americans applied for this job, and I do not believe that this is right. To post a position and name it as open but already have the person named who has the position on the website prior to the interviews taking place . . . this is preposterous.
Out of the three African Americans who applied, I am certain that at least one was qualified for the Assistant Principal position. What is really going on in the Lawrence County educational system. Racism and favortism at its best.
