We, the citizens of Lawrence County, should make searching for a superintendent and board members that place diversity and education in our school system top priorities.

It appears that this current administration has not only placed any interest of a diverse school system (with regards to its hiring practices) on the back burner, but have taken it completely off of the stove.

Since diversity in our school system is not a priority to those whom we have placed the education and lives of our children in, we must make it our priority. Become active in voting for our county’s board members, know the promises that they are making to us regarding the the education of our children and their plans for diversification within the administrative offices, counseling offices and classrooms of our schools.

Let’s show our children that they are worth fighting for when they are treated unjustly so. Diversity is important!
