The Lady Devils of Lawrence County and the Hatton Lady Hornets will both start the season ranked in the top 10.

Both teams emerged as top 10 teams in the ASWA’s (Alabama Sports Writer Association) preseason volleyball rankings.

In class 5A, Lawrence County came in as the fourth ranked team. In class 2A, Hatton was ranked six, three spots ahead of region foe Decatur Heritage.

Both teams face some changes this year. The Red Devils are replacing seven seniors, while the Hornets have a new head coach. However, big things are still expected of the two programs that have become consistently great.
