Postseason cross country is here and the Lawrence County Red Devils made a statement last week at the Northwest championship held at the Oakville Indian Mounds. 

Steele Joiner picked up first place in the boys race on the same track that the state meet will be held on. 

Joiner finished with a time of 16:35.30. 

The Lawrence County girls took first place in the race and it wasn’t even close. The Lady Devils dominated, defeating second place Cold Springs by 103 points, finishing with just 28 to Cold Springs 131. 

Four runners finished in the top 10, Taylor Williams at second, Emily Daniel at third, Savannah Williams at sixth and Olivia Marsh at ninth. Ava Martin finished 14 and Madison Ledlow 17. 

Hatton’s girls finished fourth in the race with Ally Amerson being their top runner at 19. Carson Graves finished 14 for the boy’s team. 

The Lawrence County boys finished fifth while the Hatton boys finished 10. East Lawrence finished 16, and their top runner was Peyton Davenport.
