Several local athletes were given the prestigious honor of being selected to the AHSAA All Star games for their respective sports.

Three local athletes, and one coach were selected.

Ashley Berryman of Hatton, Samantha Parker of Lawrence County and Emily Daniel of Lawrence County were chosen.

Berryman will play for the North softball team, Parker the North volleyball team and Daniel will run for the North Cross Country team.

All-Star week will take place from July 16-18 in Montgomery. Softball and cross country will be on July 17 and July 18.

Berryman is coming off a stellar junior year for the Hornets, after a sophomore year riddled with injuries.

During the 2019 state tournament she held G.W. Long, the nation’s record holder for homeruns in a season, to just five runs in two games.

Parker and Daniel also had stellar seasons for their teams. Parker will take up a vital role as a leader next season for a team losing seven seniors. Daniel has been an integral part of the Red Devils’ cross country team and will hope to lead her team back to the state meet.

Hatton head coach Denton Bowling was chosen as a coach for the softball North squad.

Bowling has gone 125-55 in three seasons at Hatton with two trips to the state finals and one state championship.
