For the second year in a row, a game vs. the Clements Colts carried a lot of playoff weight for the East Lawrence Eagles. And for the second year in a row they came up short.

The Eagles fell at home to Clements 26-13 Friday night and are now behind the eight ball in the playoff race.

Hunter Letson put the Eagles on the board first with a 3 yard touchdown run, but the Colts responded with 20 unanswered points.

Dylan Hunter cut it to 20-13 with an 8 yard touchdown run just before halftime. However, Clements scored the only second half touchdown and went on to win 26-13.

Hunter had another big game, rushing for 141 yards and a score. However, Sophomore Isiah Hubbard had his roughest game since taking over at quarterback, going just 4-17 for 51 yards and three picks.

East Lawrence will travel to Phil Campbell next Thursday
