As of Wednesday, March 18, all AHSAA sporting events have been put on hold indefinitely.

The United States has been dealing with a global pandemic in recent months known as Covid-19, or Coronavirus. The virus started in China and has now made its way to almost every country here in the world, including the U.S. While the percentage of death rate for the virus is technically low, the uncertainty of the virus coupled with how easily it seems to spread has put the country on a semi lockdown. Because of this, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey issued a statewide closing of schools last week that took effect starting Wednesday.

All schools in Alabama will be closed from Wednesday to Monday, April 6.

In the meantime, all athletic  activities including games, practices, weightlifting and conditioning has been suspended for the foreseeable future as per AHSAA rules.

It is unclear whether or not the season will continue, should classes resume on April 6 as scheduled
